68 Cadillac Eldorado

This stunning 1968 Cadillac Eldorado (same body as 1967, 1969, 1970...but perhaps the most desirable year since improvements on the introductory 1967 year had been made, and 1969-1970 lost the beautiful hidden headlights) has been officially certified by The Milestone Car Society as a postwar classic. There has been A LOT of press on this car lately. It's on the cover of the latest Classic Cars issue, and it's included with million-dollar cars in a new book "365 Cars You Must Drive" (shown for illustration purposes only). Consider too that the Milestone Car Society status is not lightly given...there are many great cars (like 1964-1966 Thunderbirds, for example) that are NOT yet certified as postwar classics. This series of Eldorado is receiving a lot of appreciative press lately...a recent Motor Trend Classics issue featured this series, and the exhaustive 300 page "American Classics Past & Present" features an enthusiastic double-page spread on the car. In today's overheated market for 1960s musclecars that sell all the way up to hundreds of thousands of dollars and more...the 1967-1968 Eldorado is on the verge of rediscovery and dramatic appreciation.

This fine example was owned by a private party who had spent countless hours detailing and improving the car. It has beautiful silver paint with a rich black leather interior and factory applied vinyl top. The famed 472 cubic inch engine starts promptly and runs smoothly. Excellent power steering with factory tilt. New brake shoes with brake lines inspected and replaced where necessary. All four tires and spare are virtually new. Very enjoyable to drive. New heater core provides robust heat. Exquisitely detailed and restored dash appears virtually new with ALL lenses polished and new laser-cut real walnut inlay installed to match original factory finish. Impressive and original genuine walnut inlays on both doors and rear passenger control consoles. Original AM-FM radio worked very well, but has been bypassed in favor of a hidden (in glove compartment) radio/CD player combination with high-end Rockford Fosgate woofers (two 5.25") and beautifully integrated top-of dash tweeters (which are quite inconspicuous) upfront. In back, are two hidden (under rear window package shelf) 6" by 9" two-way speakers. In sum, you have the classic look, but very modern and powerful sound. However, if the new owner wishes to return the radio to all-original specs...it would be a relatively easy and straightforward job. All power windows are operational...and the rear windows slide back into the roof in a really cool manner. The classic vacuum operated headlights have been rebuilt and work flawlessly. Nice trunk area...note that an additional glove compartment door is included to upgrade the original.  The air inlet valve for rear airshocks - located conveniently (but out of sight) in the trunk threshold area. This car is also very well documented with the original Owner's Manual, original 1968 letter from Cadillac, and complete Repair and Body Manuals (all included as shown). Overall, a stunning car that commands attention and admiration everywhere it goes...
